Job Description HOURS: Day Shift; Flexible FULL TIME: Benefits Eligible You will: Perform a vital part of the patient care process by examining prepared slides with the microscope to detect evidence of abnormalities Report negative Pap Test cases and refer abnormal cases to pathologists for review May read Non-GYN specimens and report findings to pathologists for final diagnosis Document the total number of slides examined or reviewed within each 24-hour period Document the number of hours spent examining slides daily Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment Champion safety, compliance, and quality control All you need is: Graduation from an accredited school of cytology NYS Lab License. Certification as a Cytotechnologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists Possess critical thinking, complex problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills Ability to operate general laboratory equipment and have basic computer skills Bonus points if you have: 2 years of laboratory training or experience Salary Range: $38.00 to $50.00 per hour (depending on experience). Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
