And because our facility is one-third the size of traditional rehab facilities, we can guarantee personalized attention.The St. Luke's Penn Foundation inpatient/rehab provides a comprehensive approach to care that is designed for individuals 18 years of age and older struggling with alcohol addiction and/or drug abuse/dependence.Because we are a program of St. Luke's Penn Foundation, a leader in the treatment of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, our program provides support for mental health needs such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and others.Our inpatient/rehab uses a variety of therapeutic approaches to develop sober life skills and to maintain motivation. It includes individual, group, and family counseling; family education; and recreational activities such as aerobics, yoga, volleyball, and more. A chaplain is also available.Substance Use Disorder Behavioral Health Technicians are responsible for providing a variety of client care duties and unit support functions. Behavioral Health Technicians help admit and discharge persons served, maintain close contact with them, assess for withdrawal symptoms, communicate with nursing and medical staff, observe behaviors, and lead persons served in therapeutic and recreational activities. Behavioral Health Technicians are responsible for assisting persons served in developing an understanding of addiction and recovery. They establish relationships with the persons receiving services, implement interventions, and monitor progress. Behavioral Health Technicians ensure the well-being of persons and provide a positive, supportive environment.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures client safety and compliance of rules.--
  • Prevents and intervenes in crises by detecting early signs of potential problems and deescalating problems in their early phase.--
  • Assist persons served in problem solving and conflict resolution. --
  • Addresses hazards to safety in the physical environment.-- Accesses emergency services when needed.
  • Provides transportation for persons served, being sure to represent the agency in a professional and courteous manner.--
  • Facilitates psycho-educational groups.-- Groups will educate individuals about addiction, treatment, resilience and recovery.--
  • Collaborates with treatment team members by actively sharing relevant information with others in a non-judgmental manner, practicing "warm hand-offs", and developing a shared understanding and respect of the respective roles and responsibilities of team members to ensure collaboration is efficient.
  • Maintains clinical records of all clients.
  • Follows treatment plan as directed.
  • Assists with the admission process and documents pertinent information.
  • Communicates changes in patients' condition to the nursing staff.
  • Facilitates patient recreational and therapeutic activities.PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
    Must have ability to sit for 2 total hours per day, and up to 1 total consecutive hour. Must be able to stand for 8 total hours per day and up to 2 total consecutive hours. Must be able to walk 6 total hours per day and up to 10 total consecutive minutes. Must have the ability to frequently use fingers/hands for fingering and handling. Must have the ability to use upper extremities for frequent pushing of objects up to 10 pounds and occasional pushing of objects up to 75 lbs. Must have the ability to transport patients weighing up to 250 lbs. via wheelchair, stretcher and/or bed. Must have the ability for frequent stooping and bending. Must have the ability for frequent reaching above shoulder level. Must have the ability for touching as it relates to feeling objects by touching with the skin, particularly that of fingertips. Must have the ability for hearing as it relates to normal conversation, high frequency and low frequency hearing sounds. Must have the ability for seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
    EDUCATION:
    • High School Graduate/GED required. BA/BS in human services field, or current student in BA/BS/Nursing School preferred.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
      • Two years previous experience in mental health or medical setting preferred. Nurse or medical aide experience preferred. CPR certification required within 60 days of hire.OTHER:
