Forger/MachinistSUMMARY OF POSITION: Shapes heated metal stock and ingots into forgings utilizing an open die press, applying knowledge of forging techniques and physical properties of metal, following work orders, diagrams, or specifications.Directs a small forge crew to assist with the process.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Supervision and direction of various technical and operational aspects of the forge and heat treatment department.2. Instructs on safe work practices and promotes safety consciousness while practicing safety procedures, enforcing policy regarding safety and making recommendations when needed.3. Review and recommend appropriate equipment repairs and or/ modifications.4. Prepare necessary and sufficient reports in a timely and orderly manner for project and engineering meetings.5. Trains and evaluates employees as assigned.6. Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education & Experience:An Associates' (2- year) degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2-5 year of experience or 8-10 years of Forging experience in a Forging, foundry and/or heat treatment facility or related industrial manufacturing setting preferred.
