How You Will Make an ImpactYou will be in the immunoreagent group supporting existing products and developing new products. The position is lab-based and you will be involved in learning new techniques under direction. Due to the nature of Research, emotional maturity and critical thinking are required to formulate objective conclusions regarding experimental data, as well as accept constructive critique about the data and/or performance. Daily activities include protein characterization, purifications, biotinylations, plate-based assays, cell culture, molecular cloning, bacterial/mammalian expression, cleaning lab/dishware, and equipment maintenance.

  • Doing laboratory experiments, under the supervision of the Director or other staff, to develop new and improved products. Multi-tasking is required.
  • Execute the lab procedures as directed, identify and communicate problems, corrections, and changes immediately.
  • Record results in laboratory notebooks as per GLP requirements.
  • Help generate and transfer relevant documentation to manufacturing for product transfer.
  • Work as part of interdepartmental project teams with other OTI personnel.

    Education/ExperienceBachelor's Degree in a relevant science such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or Molecular Biology.Experience in laboratory work is a strong plus. Laboratory experience in school may be used to satisfy this requirement. A demonstrated ability and desire to work in a laboratory setting is a strong plus.
    QualificationsThe individual should have at least some knowledge of, and experience with, many common laboratory tools, instruments, and procedures such as pipetting, using a balance, centrifuge and reagents. The specifics will vary by discipline. Working knowledge of laboratory procedures and lab safety is required.
