direction of the Operations Supervisor, the EMT (Emergency Medical
Technician) has responsibility to provide Basic Life Support skills
and to assist the EMT-Paramedic in the delivery of pre-hospital
patient care. The EMT will provide that care for neonate, infant,
pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The EMT will
act in accordance with Act 37, Rules and Regulations, PA DOH EMS
Protocols, regional and GVH policies and procedures.Essential
Functions:Functions asa certified EMT in a BLS or in the Advanced
Life Support Unit, performing procedures as outlined by Act 37, PA
Rules and Regulations, PA DOH EMS Protocols and to provide quality
pre-hospital care to neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult,
and geriatric patients.Acceptsorders from approved Medical Command
physicians, and promptly implements interventions. When
appropriate, provides pre-hospital care according to established PA
DOH EMS protocols.Maintains clinicalknowledge and skills, in order
to provide quality patient care.Participates inthe Performance
Improvement Program.Operates,restocks, and maintains vehicles to
ensure a constant state of readiness.Assists withrescue and
extrication of patients. Is able to function safely and effectively
in hazardous environments to ensure stabilization and safety of
patients and other personnel.Works withlocal EMS, fire, and law
enforcement agencies in a coordinated effort on the patient's
behalf.When GVHEMS business office is closed, obtains information
and coordinates efforts to arrange ambulance or wheelchair van
transportation.When not performing the functions of an EMT,
functions in the Department of Emergency Medicine according to the
job description of the Patient Care Technician, under the direction
of the charge nurse and the professional staff.Schedule: Part Time,
every Saturday & Sunday; 7:00 am to 7:00 pmEducation and
Experience:High School Diploma/GED, required Completion an approved
Emergency Vehicle Operators course, required Skills and Abilites:-
Demonstrated written communication skills, required- Strong verbal
communication and listening skills, required- Demonstrated time
management and priority setting skills, required- Competency in the
use of a variety of computer hardware and software systems.,
