Job Description:

This is an opportunity for an Advanced CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist - Doosan DBC130 II who will be highly compensated with a 6-month contract, 1st shift, hourly rate negotiable and dependent on skill and experience.Requirements:

• Opportunity for a highly compensated 6-month contract, 1st shift, hourly rate negotiable and dependent on skill and experience
• Looking for a motivated and highly skilled operator for a large CNC boring mill - Doosan DBC130 II -
• Works daily to plan out, fixture, program, and run fabricated components with tight tolerances
• Challenges include difficult to fixture parts, deep bores, and varied materials such as 304, 316, duplex stainless, and stellite valve seats
• Excellent understanding of blueprints, drawings, and written instructions as related to machining
• Very familiar with Mastercam, G-Code, and Fanuc controls
• Must be able to work independently and communicate information effectively to/from other shifts
• Must be able to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.
• Five+ years of experience, at least 2 years with a comparable machine to our Doosan DBC130 II
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Familiarity with lean and 5s practices is a plusJob responsibilities:
  • Work with engineering to create machining plans for complex valve components and solve problems as they arise; Runs are typically one of a kind or very short runs of under 10 parts
  • Fixture components for maximum rigidity while maintaining dimensional accuracy
  • Safely load, and unload parts with an overhead crane
  • Write and prove out programs for the efficient machining components using Mastercam and g-code -
  • Understand cost-effective feeds/speeds and modern machining strategies for steel forgings, castings, 316, 304, and valves with stellite seats
  • Choose optimal tooling for each operation. Set up, change, and maintain tooling
  • Suggest improvements to tooling and fixturing as needed
  • Perform and document in-process inspections of parts
  • Keep the work area clean and organized
