Unionville-Chadds Ford.
Position Summary
Clerical and non-educational support staff are individuals who work
alongside administrators, office staff and some work behind the
scenes to ensure that there is an efficient infrastructure within
which effective teaching and learning can take place.
Job Duties
Day-to-day job duties of clerical and non-educational support staff
are determined by the administrator, principal or his/her designee,
as they may vary depending upon the changing needs of the
school/district, teacher(s), and/or students. Clerical and
non-educational support staff, of any capacity, is subject to daily
reassignment, depending on the needs of the day. Clerical and
non-educational support staff must comply with the duties outlined
by their superior.

** Please note: clearances cannot be older than 5 years however,
some districts may require new clearances that are less than 1 year
old!
If you have taken any mandated training for Act 126 (Mandated
Reporting) and/or Act 71 (Suicide Prevention), please provide proof
of training-preferably a certificate of completion. Please include
any additional certificates for specialized training (i.e. Crisis
Prevention Intervention).
Essential Functions
Clerical and non-educational support staff are responsible for
providing essential back up services for the whole school ranging
from day to day office support and other school business including
food services in the cafeteria.
Essential duties and responsibilities of this position may vary in
nature due to changes in schedule, student or district need, and
include but are not limited to:
Perform a variety of clerical activities, including preparing
routine correspondence, sorting and filing of records, documents,
mail and other material.
Assist with attendance, absence and tardy tracking; enter
information into a proprietary student information system; generate
lists, rosters and reports as needed.
Assist in the health office as needed; provide basic first aid to
ill or injured students, and make appropriate notifications to
parents or guardians.
Answer phones, greet and direct visitors, take and relay messages;
provide routine information to students, parents or guardians.
Operate a variety of office equipment including but not limited to;
computers, fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, videoconferencing
and telephone systems, etc.
Assist in the preparation and serving of food items for the food
service program.
Maintain kitchen and serving areas in clean, safe and sanitary
condition.
Collect money for meals and a la carte sales for meals served.
Help with maintaining an orderly cafeteria in respect to noise
level, students arriving, dismissing students after proper lunch
time length, students needing assistance and behavioral issues.
Supervise students in and out of the classroom when necessary.
Adhere to all procedures, guidelines, and policies followed by
regular teachers in the school as well as STS guidelines within the
handbook.
Ensure a sustainable relationship with pupils and school personnel
by communicating in a confidential, polite and refined manner.
