do. What You’ll Do The Mechanic, Critical Utility Systems is
responsible for maintaining and supporting the reliable operation
of all facility and process utility systems essential to cGMP
manufacturing. This role ensures continuous performance,
compliance, and efficiency of clean and black utilities, providing
technical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and operational
support in a highly regulated sterile production environment. Key
Responsibilities: • Operate, inspect, and maintain critical utility
systems including WFI, Purified Water (PW), Clean Steam, Process
Air, Nitrogen, Boilers, Chillers, and Air Compressors. • Perform
routine monitoring, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of
clean and black utility systems to ensure optimal performance and
reliability. • Respond promptly to utility alarms, equipment
issues, and system deviations; perform corrective maintenance as
needed. • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all
maintenance activities in accordance with cGMP, FDA, and company
standards. • Support the operation and monitoring of Building
Management and Environmental Monitoring Systems (BMS/EMAS). •
Assist in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and
control system components including pumps, valves, and VFDs. •
Collaborate with Engineering, Facilities, Production, and Quality
teams to support manufacturing readiness and ensure uninterrupted
operations. • Review and interpret P&IDs, electrical
schematics, and technical drawings to support maintenance
activities and system understanding. • Support validation,
commissioning, and change control for new or modified utility
systems. • Oversee external contractors and vendors to ensure
safety and quality standards are met during maintenance or project
work. • Maintain compliance with OSHA, DEP, EHS, and internal
safety standards while promoting a clean, safe, and
inspection-ready work environment. • Recommend and support
continuous improvements to maintenance procedures, equipment
reliability, and utility performance. What We’re Looking For
Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in utility
system operations, facility maintenance, or mechanical systems
within a GMP, pharmaceutical, or industrial setting. Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training,
trade certification, or vocational school experience preferred.
Skills & Knowledge: • Strong technical understanding of clean and
black utility systems (WFI, PW, steam, nitrogen, compressed air,
HVAC). • Proficiency in preventive maintenance and mechanical
troubleshooting of process and facility systems. • Basic knowledge
of industrial electricity, piping systems, and control/automation
fundamentals (PLCs, VFDs). • Ability to interpret utility-related
blueprints, schematics, and SOPs. • Familiarity with CMMS platforms
such as Blue Mountain, Maximo, or SAP PM. • Comprehensive
understanding of cGMP, FDA, OSHA, and EHS regulations. • Excellent
communication, documentation, and teamwork skills. • Flexibility to
work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment. What We Offer •
