2nd shiftThesuccessful candidates will provide leadership to assigned department by meetingthe established standards of quality and cost, and in accordance with GoodManufacturing Practices while providing a clean and safe environment for allassociates. Responsible for coordinating and working collaboratively with allsupport departments.Key--responsibilities of this position are:Supervise associates and maintainsmooth efficient operations of designated area for safe production of qualityproducts in accordance with Company standards while consistently evaluating andoptimizing production schedules.Support a proactive safety culturefocusing on behaviors that prevent safety incidents from occurring. Maintainsafe working practices and conditions, conduct safety inspections and incidentinvestigations. Ensures the safety, health, and wellbeing of all associates insupport of the Company s people first culture.Create a positive work environmentthat encourages innovation by fully utilizing the synergy of all associates.Maintain an open line of communication with associates and union stewards.-- Provide guidance, leadership and direction toassociates.-- Recognize exceptionalperformance in a timely manner.Direct efforts in assigned area toachieve goals in safety, quality, efficiency, costs, budgets and waste.Assume complete accountability forthe development of all associates in their area to include record keeping,evaluation of skills and training.Effectively lead problem solvingactivities with root cause analysis and measurable, accountable actionplans.-- Develop a culture of problemsolvers with direct reports embracing related activities.Support an environment of ContinuousImprovement by challenging the status quo.--Actively pursue the necessary resources and training to aid associatesin achievement of improvements.Promote a strong food safety culturemeeting and/or exceeding regulatory requirements and Just Born qualitystandards utilizing continuous improvement methodologies.Responsible for inspections,identification, follow up and correction of all sanitation issues in assignedarea.Ensure compliance with all Companyrules and policies, government regulations and the labor agreement, and handle disciplinaryprocedures in a consistent manner within those parameters.Minimum--qualifications for this position are:Bachelor s degree and two years ofleadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment OR five yearsof supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.-- Prior experience in a military leadershiprole considered.Possess the following skills andattributes:-- Effective leadershipqualities; communication; teamwork; management skills; planning &execution; training, development & coaching; customer focus; and emotionalintelligence.Advanced technical knowledge ofmanufacturing processes and continuous improvement techniques (in a foodenvironment desired).Kronos time and attendanceand SAP knowledge desired.Just--Born, Inc., founded in 1923, is the tenth largest confectionery company in the U.S.--We are family-owned, employing over 500 associates and partnering with a wide--variety of other leading companies as we pursue our growth plans.-- Headquartered in Pennsylvania s Lehigh--Valley, we make everyone s favorite candies, including iconic brands MIKE AND IKE, HOT TAMALES, GOLDENBERG S--PEANUT CHEWS--and the world famous PEEPS.
