Reason for Coverage: Long-term permanent search
Practice Setting:
- 24/7 call coverage for 3 facilities
- Consults, GI procedures (including ERCP and EUS), inpatient
rounding, and discharges
- Must be able to perform both EUS and ERCPs
- Average 10 new consults per day
- Average 10 procedures per day
- Average census 40-50 between all 3 facilities
- ED consults are routed through office (not EMR) and average 2-3
per day
Schedule:
- 24-hour shifts

- 7:00a-5:00p on-site
- 5:00p-7:00a call
- Average 14 shifts per month
Patient Population: All ages, Adult (95%), Pediatrics
(adult sized patients
EMR: EPIC
Credentialing: 60 days, Temporary privileges
available
Requirements:
- Active Pennsylvania licensure
- Board certification
- AHA BLS certification
- Minimum 1-year Gastroenterology experience or equivalent
Travel Benefits:
If you reside greater than 50 miles from the facility you are
eligible for travel benefits. You will have your travel and lodging
arranged by our travel department and paid for in full.

Job Responsibilities (Generalized):
- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients across a variety
of clinical settings, including evaluation, diagnosis, and
treatment of acute and chronic conditions
- Conduct thorough patient histories, physical examinations, and
clinical assessments
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic testing including
laboratory work, imaging, and other studies as appropriate
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans
based on patient needs and evidence-based practices
- Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapeutic
interventions within scope of practice
- Manage ongoing patient care, including follow-up evaluations
and coordination of treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers,
nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and
quality of care
- Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical
findings accurately and in compliance with facility standards
- Respond to patient concerns and provide education regarding
diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, credentialing
requirements, and applicable regulatory standards
- Adapt quickly to new clinical environments, workflows, and
electronic medical record systems
- Stay current on medical advancements, clinical guidelines, and
best practices through continuing medical education and
professional development
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of specialty principles and practices,
including diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills in a
fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build
rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare
teams
- Technical proficiency in performing procedures (if
applicable)
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to adapt to
changing patent conditions
- Time management and organizational skills to manage a patient
workload effectively
Education Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree of Doctor of Osteopathic
Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by
the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or
American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
- Fellowship training in Gastroenterology (may be preferred
depending on the position)
Licenses & Certifications:
- Board certification in Gastroenterology by the American Board
of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA/ARB
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania
Experience:
- While specific requirements may vary, most locum physician
positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in
a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
