A School Nurse position is available for a summer contract in Bangor, PA, offering an opportunity to support student health and wellness in an educational setting. This role is onsite and scheduled Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, running from July 6 to July 30. Responsibilities include: - Assessing and treating student illness and injuries with appropriate first aid - Providing preventive health services that promote physical, mental, emotional, and social development - Educating students, parents, and staff on health topics as assigned - Communicating effectively with students and guardians about health concerns - Maintaining health records and carrying out school health programs - Ensuring a safe and healthy school environment for all students Qualifications sought for this opportunity: - Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN or RN) in Pennsylvania - Certification as an Educational Specialist by the Pennsylvania Department of Education - Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred - Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor certifications - 35 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics or school nursing The role requires physical activities such as standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds, along with effective communication abilities including vision, hearing, and speech.
