Job Description:
The Department of Neurosurgery at Penn State Health and Penn
State College of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Spine
Neurosurgeon with interest and expertise in spinal oncology to join
the team at our flagship hospital, Penn State Hershey Medical
Center (PSHMC) in Hershey, PA. Fellowship level experience in
spinal surgery with an emphasis on oncological disorders of the
spine is preferred. This is a full-time academic position with an
academic appointment commensurate with experience. The successful
candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care, a desire
to pursue cutting-edge research, and a passion for education. The
ability to work collaboratively is essential. Position Highlights -
The Penn State Department of Neurosurgery consists of seven
clinical divisions covering all the major subspecialty areas of
neurosurgery and is the only academic neurosurgical practice in
South Central PA. - The Division of Spinal Surgery at PSHMC led by
two fellowship trained spine surgeons with interest and expertise
ranging from minimally invasive techniques to multilevel deformity
correction. The division also includes two advanced practice
providers. - The Division of Neuro-Oncology and Skull Base Surgery
at PSHMC includes a fellowship trained tumor neurosurgeon, a
full-time medical neuro-oncologist, an advanced practice provider,
and a nurse coordinator. - Opportunities to educate and mentor
medical students, residents, and fellows. - Support for research
and innovation. - Work collaboratively with medical oncology,
radiation oncology, and the Penn State Cancer Institute.
Compensation and Benefits - Competitive salary – guaranteed base

match up to 10% Requirements - MD, MD/PhD, DO or equivalent degree
- BC/BE Neurosurgery - Fellowship level experience in spinal
surgery with an emphasis on spinal oncology - Ability to acquire a
license to practice medicine in the State of Pennsylvania - Must be
able to obtain valid federal and state opioids certificates - Track
record of clinical excellence Community - Access to excellent
public schools, with many ranked in the top 20% of the state. -
