We are seeking an Addiction Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of psychiatric services at Temple Health. The Opportunity The Addiction Psychiatrist will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive substance use and psychiatric care to a diverse, underserved patient population. This position encompasses medication-assisted treatment and integrated care across multiple settings, including the Episcopal Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment Center, the Begin the Turn mobile outreach van, and the Crisis Response Center. Responsibilities include conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a recovery-oriented team of social workers, therapists, primary care physicians, and certified recovery specialists. In addition to clinical duties, the role offers opportunities to teach and mentor psychiatry residents, medical students, and other trainees, while contributing to initiatives aimed at reducing health disparities. Weekend call responsibilities are shared on a rotating basis (approximately three weekends per year). Highlights • Clinical care: Conduct comprehensive evaluations, including history-taking, mental status examinations, and diagnostic assessments, for patients from a range of cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds • Culture: Experience a collaborative, collegial environment amongst nursing staff, social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to address the comprehensive needs of patients • Teaching and Mentoring: Educate, supervise, and mentor psychiatry residents, medical students, and other trainees in clinical settings • Research and Scholarship: Benefit from research mentorship and opportunities, and participate in institutional committees and initiatives • Administrative Responsibilities: Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and policies and maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and academic activities Candidate Qualifications • MD or DO from an accredited institution • Successful completion of residency in Psychiatry from an ACGME-accredited program • Successful completion of a fellowship in either Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine, or possess ABPN subspecialty certification in Addiction Psychiatry and commensurate experience prior to start date • Board eligibility or certification in Psychiatry • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment • Ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license & DEA from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to employment Features and Benefits • Compensation consistent with leading academic institutions and CME Funds • Vacation, Holiday, Sick and CME Time • Generous 403b retirement match • 457b • Health, dental, and vision • Malpractice • Tuition remission • Savi- student loan repayment program We are committed to fostering a welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff.
