on the full array of benefits.Primary Function: - The Director is
responsible for promoting and maintaining a healthy living-learning
environment and for assuring the quality of life of student
residents. This position will be an experienced partner having
knowledge of best practices regarding college housing management,
recruitment & operations.Responsibilities: -Working with the staff
assigned: - (1) Primary responsibility is to take students from the
point of inquiry for housing to a signed housing contract and
collaborate with Records, Financial Aid and the Health Center to
get all clearances. Accountable for occupancy of the residential
facilities, including reaching targets, goals, and strategy
development (2) Working with marketing and public relations
department to utilize all advertising options such as social media,
public and campus outlets for advertising housing program. (3) In
collaboration with other Residence Hall staff develop and oversee
the departmental budget. Responsible for revenue projections and
collections as well as capital requests (4) Lead efforts to
maximize occupancy, in partnership with Admissions, Summer
Conferencing and other programs on campus to ensure the residence
halls have maximized occupancy. (5) Represent the College's
Foundation and College Housing Staff in collaboration with other
Residence Hall staff support major programs like NCC New Student
Orientation, recruitment events, campus tours, Move-in Days and
other events. (6) In cooperation with the Facilities department,
develop master facilities management plans for the residential
complex. -Work with vendors, other Residence Hall staff and college
employees to ensure facility is maintained for compliance for fire
& safety. (7) Oversee all room assignments and changes. (8)
Maintain keys, ID access, room condition reports, billing/deposits
and other paperwork (9) In collaboration with Associate Director of
Residence Life stay abreast of and incorporate changing trends and
best practices in housing & residence life and the student
experience. (10) Oversight of Housing software as well as reporting
to effectively assess and evaluate the residence life program. (11)
Collaborate with housing team with conduct issues and on call
responsibilities at non peak times for recruitment (12) Supervise
the Secretary for College Housing & Residence Life (13) Implement
special responsibilities as assigned by the
supervisor.Organizational Relationships: - (1) Responsible to the
Vice President of Institutional Advancement for performance of
assigned responsibilities. - (2) Work closely with Residence Life
and other departments across the campus to carry out duties of
Residence Life. (3) Supervise support staff in collaboration with
the Associate Director of Residence Life. (4) Relate to college,
divisional and department goals. (5) Function as an active member
of the College's mid-management team.Performance Standards: -
Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: - (1)
mutually agreed upon objectives have been attained within a
specified time frame. - (2) Responsibilities of the position have
been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives.
- (3) Effective cooperative relationships exist with the other
members of the administrative team.Qualifications: - (1) Education:
- Master's Degree (or equivalent graduate work with experience in
the field) preferred in student personnel or a related field from
an accredited college. - (2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: - (a)
knowledge of college housing and residence life management; (b)
good organizational, communication, and leadership skills; (c)
ability to work with small and large groups; (d) ability to
function effectively as a member of an administrative team;(e)
ability to relate to varied needs of students and staff; (f) good
interpersonal skills; (g) ability to work with and relate to
community constituencies. - (3) - Experience: - (a) 3- 5 years
related experience preferred (b) demonstrated competency to serve
in an administrative capacity.
