*Position Summary*

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced purchasing manager to join our growing organization. In this position, you will oversee the purchasing of goods and services necessary for our business. Responsibilities include seeking reliable vendors or suppliers to provide quality goods at reasonable prices. This role has the means and opportunity to raise our profits by making the most high-quality and cost-effective purchases.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset. You should know how to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers. Communication skills will help you negotiate effectively and maintain profitable relationships.

*Key Responsibilities*

- Develop, lead, and execute profitable purchasing strategies

- Responsible for providing leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, counseling, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management, and individual development.

- Drive a culture of accountability and results through strategy deployment and effective performance management.

- Direct reports will include three buyers

- Generate and distribute accurate purchase orders and budgets

- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness

- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms

- Monitor and forecast levels of demand for services and products

- Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts

- Liaison between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers

- Perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking

- Assess, manage, and mitigate risks

- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries

- Prepare and submit detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures etc.)

- Draft, review contracts, and modify terms and conditions; express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in written form

- Attend events, fairs and exhibitions to keep abreast of market trends


- BS/BA degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration

- 5+ years' experience in the procurement of goods within the Food Service Industry and/or restaurant/chef management experience, and/or related (Business, Sales, marketing, Hospitality or Culinary) degrees

- Proven working experience as purchasing manager

- Skilled at negotiating prices and terms and conditions

- Knowledge of market dynamics, data analysis and purchasing best practices

- Working knowledge of vendor management software (i.e. SAP) and MS Office suite

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Pay: $65,852.00 - $85,000.00 per year
