Job Description

The Asset Manager is responsible for the overall asset management process, managing, controlling and protecting the organization's IT assets throughout their lifecycle. This role will manage the maintenance of records and databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties and service agreements for the organization's hardware or software. The Asset Manager will optimize the usage of assets and ensure license compliance for the organization. The Asset Manager will also set the related standards and policies and promote the asset management function within the group.

Job Duties

Asset Management Strategy:
* Work closely with the Asset Lead to support the planning and implementation of an IT asset life cycle strategy; advise Procurement and Operations in procurement strategies for IT asset acquisition.
* Manage the IT asset portfolio with respect to risk, cost control, governance, compliance, and performance objectives.

Asset Management Operations:
* Establish a scheme for identifying hardware and software-related assets as well as CIs (Configuration Items), including versioning and dependencies in the asset management tools, attributes, the contract management library, and the CMDB.
* Plan, monitor, and record CI data for hardware assets or software licenses to make sure they comply with vendor contracts.
* Track company assets in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) throughout their lifecycle; effectively manage the CMDB and ensure content is complete and accurate.
* Manage the inventory of CIs and assets, making sure that modifications, withdrawals, and additions of existing ones are correctly recorded by the teams in charge to ensure that vendor contracts are complied with.
* Serve as an IT asset management subject matter expert.
* Discover specific license demand and manage the purchasing and renewal of licenses. Support negotiation of license/ service contracts with external vendors.

Reporting and Compliance:
* Analyze and report on KPIs and other information, including compliance reports on current assets and CIs and their status; also perform trend analysis to ensure optimized usage of IT assets and efficient asset management processes.
* Manage activities concerning license compliance audits to be able to respond to requests from software engineers effectively.
* Tracking uninstallations or license purchase regularly to be compliant with both external legal regulations and internal company policy.

Other responsibilities / duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, business administration or other related field (or equivalent and related experience preferred).
* Minimum 3-5 years' experience as an Asset Manager (Software), in an environment similar in size and complexity to Olympus.
* Extensive experience with Asset management / Asset inventory frameworks.
* Good understanding of ITIL 3/4 service management framework and related processes.
* Broad experience in other IT disciplines, e.g. Financial Management for IT Assets, IT Asset requisition, IT Asset procurement, IT Asset inventory, Software License Management, IT Asset retirement & disposal.

* Experience of working at all levels of an organization, from operational to senior management levels.
* Demonstrable interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrable problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrable coordination skills.
