What You Will Be Doing
Provide leadership for multiple construction projects from
preliminary budgeting, through final design, permitting,
construction and project closeout.- Review project proposal plans
and specifications to determine time frame, funding limitations,
procedures for accomplishing project, and allotment of available
resources to various phases of project.- As with any large project,
client interface and managing stakeholders is a core function, and
you will lead interactions, negotiations and provide robust
solutions.- Manage the overall financial health of projects; works
with the actual billings on projects and works with President and
Controller to ensure a smooth process on all projects.- Execute
change orders and negotiate with the Owner and subcontractors on
projects in order to maintain an efficient and well-run project.-
Functions as the main point of contact with the owner and on-site
representative.- Lead and mentor Project Engineers and Interns.-
Directs and coordinates project activities to ensure project
progresses on schedule, on-time completion and within prescribed
budget.- Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and
modifies schedules or plans as required.- Prepares project reports
for management, clients, or others.
What You Need for this Position
- 5+ years of related experience working on commercial construction
projects.- BS degree in Construction Management or another related
field.- Understands, and can communicate best practices in all
phases of commercial construction.- Thorough knowledge of
construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and
engineering principles, as well as accounting principles.- Willing
to travel to other markets as needed to assist with projects.-
Possess strong initiative and effective organizational skills.
