Department Chair, Computer Science andEngineering The P.C. Rossin College of Engineering & Applied Science atLehigh University invites applications and nominations for theposition of Chair of the Department of Computer Science andEngineering (CSE). We seek a high-profile, accomplishedresearcher who is a dynamic leader with a vision to build upon thecontinued growth and success of the Department and to expand itsresearch efforts. The Department currently has 14 tenured or tenure-track facultymembers and five Professors of Practice. Our undergraduate,Masters, and Ph.D. programs are vibrant and growing, with currentenrollments of approximately 350 undergraduate and 50 graduatestudents. CSE faculty members maintain outstandinginternational reputations in a variety of areas, including AI/DataScience, Robotics and Systems. Research expenditurescurrently exceed $1.2 million per year. The faculty includes NSF CAREER award winners and ACM, IEEE andNAI fellows. The Department offers Ph.D. and M.S. degrees inComputer Science. All of our B.S. programs are fully accreditedincluding the unique B.S. in Computer Science and Businesswhich is accredited both in computer science and in business. Lehigh University is in Bethlehem, PA, in the rapidly growingLehigh Valley metropolitan area. The Lehigh Valley, with apopulation over 800,000, is located approximately 1 hour north ofPhiladelphia and 1.5 hours west of New York City. TheUniversity has a current enrollment of approximately 5,000undergraduate students and 2,000 graduate students, and is planningto increase these enrollments in the next few years. Lehighis investing substantially in new innovative research and academicprograms to enhance its intellectual footprint. Theseinvestments, based on faculty-driven initiatives, will advance theUniversity's commitment to research and to enhance studentexperiences. The university welcomes applications from, and nominations for,individuals with a strong academic background in computerscience. A candidate must possess a Ph.D., have an exemplaryrecord of achievement in research, teaching, and service at a levelsufficient for appointment as a tenured Professor, at the rank offull professor, and demonstrate a commitment to supporting theadvancement of fellow faculty members at all levels.
